Biography

Kara LOVES professional development, both presenting and attending, as long as it is relevant and applicable! This is one reason she started Guiff Goodies for Education - to provide valuable, cost effective training for special education staff. Kara is an innovative special education teacher with over 30 years of experience in K-12 education, as well as the founder and lead trainer for Guiff Goodies For Education. She has been a resource teacher, interventionist, and co-teacher in general education classrooms and is currently a special education alternative education instructor at White’s Jr/Sr High. She is passionate about utilizing available tools and methods to empower teachers to save time without sacrificing effectiveness.

Kara loves keeping up with and learning new tech and teaching methods and is excited to share things with other educators. When not teaching or running her business, Kara loves to enjoy live theater and concerts, traveling, volunteering, and hanging out with family and friends, reading, and binging on Netflix! Her favorite winter activity is curling up with a book, a big mug of hot cocoa, and watching the snowfall out her bay window. In the summer you will find her in front of a fan (she doesn't like to sweat) !
